What is SnoutID?
SnoutID is a technology that uses a dog's nose print to create a unique identification. Similar to how human fingerprints are unique, a dog's nose print is also unique to them. This makes it an excellent method of identification for dogs.
How does SnoutID work?
To use SnoutID, you need to take a picture of your dog's nose and upload it to the Crumb dashboard. Our systems will then analyze the nose print and create a unique identification for your dog. This identification is stored securely on our servers, along with your dog's other information, such as their name, breed, and allergy information.
When you need to identify a dog, you can use the SnoutID scanner (coming soon) to scan their nose print. The algorithm will compare the new scan to the ones stored on our servers to confirm the dog's identity.
One of the main benefits of SnoutID is that it deters dog thieves. Potential buyers of pets can check the SnoutID database to see if the dog they are thinking of buying is on the database. If the dog is on the database, it is a strong indication that the dog has been stolen, as the original owner would have registered the dog's SnoutID in the database.
This creates a significant deterrent to would-be dog thieves and helps to increase the chances of lost or stolen dogs being reunited with their owners.
Why is SnoutID better than other identification methods?
